Andrew Amigo has enjoyed a passion for helping others for as long as he can
remember, and that is why he left a successful career in technology sales and
embarked on his decade long quest to transition himself into a therapist with a
very unique skill set.
Andrew received his Masters Degree in Corrective Exercise Strategies for
Rehabilitation from California University at Pennsylvania. Realizing that he needed
more and wanted to learn from the best, he embarked on two years of study in
European Manual Osteopathy with Dr. Guy Voyer, arguably the world foremost
Osteopath. During his time with Dr. Voyer he learned many valuable manual
therapy strategies like facial chains, articular pumping (a manual therapy technique
that pumps inflammation out of joints) and specific spinal stretches to help
improve disc space for acute herniations. Andrew put the knowledge and skills he
learned with Dr. Voyer to practical use by undergoing a one year internship with
Dr. Keith Pyne, one of the world's great chiropractors specializing in soft tissue
manipulation for world-class athletes.
Having established a fundamental foundation, Andrew wanted a more in depth
understanding of the brain and central nervous system which lead him to Dr. Chris
Caffery, a functional neurologist. Andrew recently completed a two year internship
with Dr. Caffery spending hundreds of hours learning how the central nervous
system functions, how the brain is related to neurophysiological dysfunctions, spinal
biomechanics, strategies for postural correction and how to design brain based
rehabilitation programs to improve the function of the central nervous system. He
also learned the fundamentals of functional medicine to correctly design and
implement proper nutritional and supplementation programs.
Throughout his educational quest, Andrew has received the following additional
certifications; clinical massage therapy, Paul Chek's level 1 program focusing on
using a holistic model for assessing movement and restoring functional movement
and a certification as a PES (Performance Enhancement Specialist) from NASM
(National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Throughout his journey Andrew has never stopped and will continue acquiring
knowledge to add new skills to his treatment arsenal. Andrew's passion to solve
even the most complicated client cases and help his client's gain "Fast Healing"
gives Andrew the motivation to continue. Andrew's ability to help his clients feel
better by providing a unique approach to health and wellness gives him great joy
and satisfaction.
